EVENTS COMING SOON...

We’ve had another eventful week at Chihuahuas. Lots of meetings and projects that we can’t wait to put into action and we've got a great few events coming up next weekend. We love it when people come along to our events and have a chat and a burrito with us so please do come and see us. We're even trialling a new product on Saturday on Unthank Road which we're very excited about.

GRINGOS — 27/11/15

Classying up Prince of Wales for a while now, Gringos Mexican Tequila Bar is letting us inhabit their beautiful bar this Friday 27th. Not only will we be selling our burritos from our pop-up, Friday is the Gringos Jazz night with UEA Jazz Collective (event page here). Burritos, jazz and proper tequila — why not start your weekend a bit differently?

UNTHANK ROAD WINTER FAIR — 28/11/15

You might remember from our last post that we had a brilliant taco tasting evening with Adnams a few weeks ago. We learnt a lot about beer and also that hand pressing 100 homemade tacos takes much longer than you think it will (I aged about ten years in an hour). So after a very enjoyable evening, we’re back this Saturday with the the Unthank Road Winter Fair. We'll be based at the Adnams shop along with many other exciting foodie and christmassy activities. Other retailers on Unthank will also be getting involved so come along for some festive shopping and a warm yourself up with a burrito whilst you're there!

OUR FIRST MONTH...

So we made it through our first month! Chihuahuas is up and running and as exhausted and as stressed as we’ve been, it’s an incredible feeling to see our dream become a reality. Authentic Mexican food in Norwich, who’d have thought it?!

In the last month, we have fallen in love with Norwich all over again. This fine city that we’ve adopted as our own has welcomed us into the community and we’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve been shown. From local businesses giving us advice to people booking us for events to every time we hear someone say “this is exactly what Norwich needs”, everyone has helped to spur us on. Oh and of course, anyone who has bought a burrito from us gets a special shout out. It’s all very appreciated and we’re touched by how willing everyone is to help. Thank you.

Enough with the mush - what have we been up to in our first month?

We've had two fantastic evenings at The Birdcage serving our burritos from the quirky back room. We're back on the 12th November!

It all got a bit spooky when we popped up at 'Noirwich' Crime Writing Festival with Milk & Moss, Strangers Coffee and Woolf and Bird. The medieval Dragon Hall may well be be the oldest venue we ever sell burritos in!

WEDDING BELLS AND BURRITOS. We booked our first Chihuahuas wedding this month!

Magdalen Street Celebrations. We sold out within two hours! We live just round the corner so it was lovely to be a part of the festival celebrating such an iconic area. The highlight for us was the exhibition of photographs by Katherine Mager called THIS IS THE PLACE

We spent Halloween weekend with The Jubilee on Friday and The Playhouse on Saturday. Both nights were a lot of fun and some of the fancy dress on Saturday was equally amazing and terrifying. We also had a themed menu including 'The Krueger' and 'The Cujo'!

Coming up this month we’ve got a tasting event at Adnams’ Norwich shop on the 6th as well as the Adnams Winter Fair on the 28th! We’ve also got our monthly Beer and Burrito night at The Birdcage on the 12th so swing by and see us at an event this month.

And, of course, don’t forget we do delivery! You can order from our website here. We deliver Tuesday - Friday lunchtimes (11-3) and Tuesday - Sunday evenings (6-10).
